About Me

Hi! My name is Murad and I'm currently pursuing a Computer Science and Data Science degree at the University of British Columbia. I started learning to program when I was 12 years old, and ever since, I have indulged myself in web development, competitive programming, mobile development, etc.

In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading,photography, and working on personal projects. My main interests, outside of computer science, are chess, psychology, physics, symbols, and mythology. I am also the Software Lead of Innovate, Design, and Sustain club, which aims at building Solar Benches around the UBC campus.

In computer science, my main goal is to contribute to Natural Language Processing. I want to help computers better understand human languages, so they can learn without any help from humans.

Programming Tutor

Company: Launchpad Learning Period: 2022 January - Present At Launchpad Learning, I teach primary school kids various programming languages and concepts including Scratch, Python, Java and OOP.

Data Science Intern

Company: Kasko Butik Period: 2021 June- 2021 August
During the summer of 2021, I was a Data Science Intern at Kasko Butik. My main goal was to help my supervisors better understand patterns in drivers' data using Python. The purpose of the graphs was to predict accidents happening based on drivers' previous history.

App Developer

Company: Apar Period: 2021 August- 2021 November I was hired as a contractor to develop a freight transporation app. I created two separate apps, using Flutter and Firebase, one for drivers and one for customers.

UBC Solar Bench Project

As the Software Lead in Innovation, Design, Sustain club, I was responsible for leading a team of Software Engineers in the Solar Bench project. Our goal was to install benches on the UBC campus that are powered by the sun and provide a charging station to students. In addition to this, the bench has a screen that shows students information about campus news. Python, Grafana, and Google Cloud Platform are used to monitor the bench and alert the team in case of outrages.

IUsta

IUsta was the personal project I developed and deployed in my hometown, Baku. The app's premise was to connect customers and repairers. Repairers would sign up and choose their expertise and set their own prices. In case of a maintenance issue, customers could open the app and choose any free repairer to come to their house. The app had an integrated rating and map system. I built the app using Flutter and Firebase for back end. You can check the app on App Store and PlayStore

CareTaker Buddy

CareTaker Buddy was a team project we developed during BCHacks Hackathon, and won. The app consists of two parts CareTaker and SeniorBuddy. With the help of our app, senior citizens get reminders to take their medicine, stay mentally and physically active, and do other assignments. In case of an emergency, senior citizens can easily notify their caretakers through the app. The app also included a personalized chatbot to help seniors.GitHub
